These award-winning varieties are farmed in Santa Ynez Valley in beautiful, Southern California. The following are just a few of our award-winning wines!
2017 Open Arms:
The flavor profile of this Silver award winner is sure to tickle the taste buds. Granny Smith apples, honeysuckle, caramel, and pears come together to create a wine that is the perfect complement to any time, moment, or circumstance. Being aged for 12 months within neutral oak barrels adds a certain flavor twist to the profile ensuring the smoothest finish.
2017 Camping in Clouds:
Given 91 points by Wine Enthusiast, this fuller-bodied white wine is light and refreshing. It’s reminiscent of a beautiful, summer-y afternoon. The Toast of the Coast gold winner was aged 12 years and offers a sweet combination of caramel, honey, and apricot. This is a delightful vino that can accentuate any occasion, including camping under the clouds.
2017 Five Hearts Reserve:
Can you imagine Petite Sirah, Sangiovese, and Merlot blended into one? If not, I can assure you, it’s magnificent! So much so, Five Hearts Reserve was a double gold winner in the largest competition of North American wines. It is a medium-bodied red wine named after the five members of our family. Notes of black currant, blackberry, dark cherry, and just a hint of cedar make for a bold, exciting, and rich flavor. The complexities that emanate from this variety will astound your taste buds and would amaze even the most sophisticated wine enthusiast.
Aged 20 months in French oak barrels this soft but complex red wine is very fruit-forward. It boasts notes of sandalwood, cherry, blackberry, dried fig, and vanilla. The notes mingle together before opening up to tastes of plum and spice. The 2017 Lifesaver is not only a Gold winner in The Toast of the Coast, but it is also an exclusive reserve vintage wine. This is one you’ll want to uncork immediately!
This light to medium-bodied Sangiovese, has a complex aroma of berries, licorice, stewed plums, and just a hint of cedar with a nice, spicy finish. Timeless was made to pay homage to treasured and sentimental keepsakes, such as the pocket watch that I was given by my cherished grandfather. An award-winner in the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, it’s a winner in more ways than one.
With a rich dark cherry aroma, Rudderless certainly earns its spot on Mcclain’s award-winning wine list. This red blend has an almost earthy body but finishes unbelievably smoothly. This 2019 Silver winner in the Los Angeles International Wine Competition, was aged for 18 months. It was made to ‘honor those times when you don’t know where you’re going or what you’re doing.’ Rudderless is mellow, and quite fitting at the moment, don’t you think?
