When we say “Holiday movies” of course your first thought is Christmas. But as it turns out, there are plenty of fall, sports, and even some romantic comedies to keep your movie nights full of warmth, wine, and great entertainment.

This Halloween classic may be family-friendly, but it’s also a nostalgic classic that goes perfectly with a glass of wine after a big autumn feast. Great for the whole family, or for pouring a glass of sweet Zinfandel.

Autumn In New York

For something more grown-up, the scenery in Autumn In New York is enough to make you want to book a fall trip to the Big Apple, and maybe fall in love with a beautiful, unattainable stranger yourself! A full-bodied Chardonnay and this sweeping romantic classic is probably less expensive though.

It’s impossible to think about fall movies without thinking about Hocus Pocus. Another family classic that gives us a touch of nostalgia. This one’s all about embracing your inner witch. Perfect for those of us who love Hallowe’en, and aren’t so big on horror movies. Plus, who doesn’t love Bette Midler, and a young SJP?

Practical Magic

Who doesn’t love modern, magical sisterhood? This is a great choice for those of us who want to pretend we outgrew Hocus Pocus, but still, want the perfect fall movie for a movie night in with the girls. Pour yourself a glass of red, call your sisters, and light some candles.

You’ve Got Mail

Meg Ryan, fall colors, rom-coms… Somebody say “You’ve got mail?” There’s something so warm and snuggly about romantic stories in the fall. This is a great autumnal classic, even if the tech is a bit dated.

When Harry Met Sally

Speaking of Meg Ryan. Cute funny, and all about coming together to see each other in new ways. This movie is a classic for a reason, and year after year, it’s cozy, playful humor is a fall classic. Gorgeous Central Park in the fall makes this a great movie for curling up in a cozy sweater with a rich red Cabernet Franc.

Mona Lisa Smile

This fall movie was hailed at the women’s version of the classic Dead Poet’s society. Kirsten Dunst and Julia Roberts arguing over the roles of women in comfortable sweaters and a backdrop of rioting fall colors? It sounds like the perfect recipe for a wine night with the girls. That goodbye scene will definitely bring the waterworks.

Ghost Busters

A movie so great they made it twice! Whether you’re here for the classic with Dan Akroyd, or the updated, all-girl Kate McKinnon reboot, Ghostbusters is a great choice for your Hallowe’en-themed movie nights!

Remember The Titans

Fall is a great time for indulging in your love of football while celebrating the fact that you never have to go back to classes! Remember the Titans is a great choice for college football fans who want to relive those glory days.
