Here are two amazing wines made for the Laguna Playhouse in Laguna Beach, CA for their guests to enjoy.
Curtain Call Cabernet Sauvignon is a bold red wine with very dark fruit and plenty of rich tannins. Grown in the warm sun of Paso Robles, this wine is deep and dark with flavors of ripe plum, blackberries, and a rounded mocha finish. Although good on its own, this wine goes great with pork chops, barbecue, and is truly amazing with anything chocolate. Whether you enjoy it before the main act or with dessert, we are confident that you will find this wine worthy of applause.
Ghost Light Chardonnay is a bright well-balanced California style Chardonnay with a good structure of orchard flavors and a subtleness of French Oak. Fresh slices of pear and green apple on the forefront, with citrus blossom, and a smooth Crème Brûlée finish. Named after the ghost light that every theatre keeps on each night to ward off evil spirits and keep in the good, we hope our Chardonnay keeps you in good spirits during this time and many months to come.

Led by Dean Guzman, Head Winemaker for McClain Cellars, our team has the facility and experience to affordably carry the weight as a custom crush operation. We can take your wine from grape to bottle all in-house. We have the ability to help a start-up winery establish a brand and a product or take over the production needs of established organizations and help them to better manage their wine production needs.

First of all, a beautiful tasting room here in Solvang. We sat outside at our cute little fire pit table. Our server was very knowledgeable and friendly. We even tried the popcorn flight, which was good , not great, but I just thought some of them could use a little little bit more flavor, but I think the truffle was my favorite.I bought a bottle of wine, the Sofia, which was very good and also my daughters name is Sophia… would definitely go back again.

Great atmosphere with an even greater wine tasting experience. Allie was an amazing guide through each wine, and brought with her a personable and welcoming hospitality. The wine was well worth the price, definitely a must visit in Solvang.

We really enjoyed the service by Taylor. We picked a wine flight to sample that was too fruity and not in our desired palette, Taylor noticed and brought us something drier and more of our liking. We found some wines we really liked and ordered some glasses of wine after our wine flight. Would recommend for service and atmosphere. A fun date spot for before or after dinner. This is my second visit here.

We had a great time and I’m glad my first time wine tasting was here at McClain Clellars. This was my girlfriend and I’s first time wine tasting and thank goodness we had Elizabeth help us throughout. She taught us some wine basics and was patient with us as we asked questions. Very cool wine bar. Found this randomly thru a Google search while on a business trip and showed up on a night that happened to be a members special event. The staff welcomed us and allowed us to taste a few wines before settling on a glass. I can't wait to tell the local team about this spot. See you again soon!

2/27/2024Had a number of nice wines in the Owners tasting but my favorite was outside the tasting, a bold Malbec. The staff was really friendly and interactive. It's not a cheap tasting though, the price was very California. Two tastings, two glasses, and one bottle to take home was almost $300. I don't regret the cost, just know you'll spend a bit.The location is cute and clean. I love the art on the bottles, the walls, the bar top.

Came here not knowing what to expect and had THEE BEST experience ever. Between the art, the wine, and the best part Juliana!, the whole experience was an absolute delight. I don’t live near the area but I would make the 1.5 hour drive as much as possible so I could come here as often as possible. My cousin brought here (as a wine club member for the last three years) and now I understand why. Do yourself a favor and come check this place out.

If I can give McClain and Juliana 6 stars, I would. This place is filled with so much care and thoughtfulness. I met Juliana a few years ago when I joined as a wine club member and she and others are so welcoming. It has been an incredible experience getting to do complimentary monthly wine tastings, making connections with those who work at McClain and also people who I meet here along the way. Highly recommend if you love good stupid wine and good company. ❤️❤️

We went up to Laguna for the day while my mom was in town. After the traffic, the first thing we wanted to do was get some wine. We happened to come across this awesome little tasting room as our first stop AND ENDED UP STAYING FOR 3 HOURS!! My wife and I visited the Solvang location not too long ago and absolutely loved it. Our wine-tender Juliana was absolutely incredible! So knowledge, fun and kind. We loved our wine and out time. We will definitely be back! We also happened to run into THOR who happened to help build the tasting room with his hammer. True story! Thanks McClain!!

Jason was a phenomenal host. He encouraged us to just sit back and relax and enjoy our time in the beautiful venue. No pressure to move on to the next taste and get out. Wines were delicious. I had a wonderful experience at McClain Buellton!! The wines are delicious, and the staff are super knowledgeable, attentive, and courteous. The patio is a great place to hang out, enjoy a flight, and play some yard games. Looking forward to my next visit!
Even though all the electricity was out in Buellton and the surrounding area, Reid and Tiffany the hosts at McClain were perky and ready to serve and the wine was delicious. I just found out that McClain cellars is up in Buellton now! We signed up for their wine club after being gifted some of their wine last summer and we have been very pleased with everything we have received from them! I look forward to visiting this tasting room and enjoying this as a local place to visit!

The Tasting/Barrel Room is spectacular! It's not every place that you cab walk in that offers not only a great tasting service but lets you do it in such a cool space! Buellton is perfectly located in the middle of one of the great wine regions in the US, if not the world. Come on out and see this!

Lovely wines & nice intimate atmosphere
After my birthday plans fell through I quickly put together a day of fun including a trip to McClain Cellars after seeing their ad on Facebook. I had messaged them to find out more about their food offering and got a very prompt response with their food offerings as well as food options from their surrounding restaurants. Upon arrival we were greeted by several of their wine ambassadors in addition to Jason, the owner. They wished me a happy birthday and made sure my experience was top notch. All of the staff were pleasant to talk to! The wine was great and live music was another wonderful surprise. Not to mention it’s a family-owned business! I HIGHLY recommend a visit. We ended the night buying several bottles of wine and headed to the Italian restaurant next door for a wonderful meal. I will definitely be bringing friends and family back!
